Fentanyl, meth, crack seized in Westover drug bust

A Mon-Metro Drug Task Force operation recovered undisclosed quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine base (crack) from a residence in Westover earlier this week. 

On Tuesday, task force agents and members of the West Virginia State Police executed a search warrant at 424 Albany St., Apt. 1. 

According to court records, the search occurred to seek evidence supporting an investigation regarding Kenneth Andre Carter, 53, of Detroit, Mich., and the distribution of cocaine base, fentanyl and methamphetamine. 

During the search, task force agents encountered Carter and found “large quantities” of crack cocaine, fentanyl and meth, records state. 

The drugs were seized from the residence, along with other evidence of drug distribution. 

The Dominion Post reached out to the task force for information on the amount of drugs recovered, but did not hear back in time for this report. 

Carter was charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court. 

Carter is currently being held at North Central Regional Jail on $75,000 bond.
