Dyer Titchnell

Dyer Junior “Bud” Titchnell, 73, of Herring, W.Va., passed away at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown on Friday, July 12, 2024. 

He was born in Kingwood on Nov. 29, 1950, a son of the late James R. “Doc” and Cloe Etta “Blondie” (Jenkins) Titchnell. 

Bud was a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bud enjoyed any activity that got him outside, but especially bear hunting. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to everyone.  

Bud’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Logan. He worked as an equipment operator and owned Titchnell Lumber for several years. He will be sadly missed by friends and family. 

Bud is survived by his children, Sharon Titchnell and husband, Eric Goff and Lorna Friend and husband, Larry; one grandson, Logan Friend, who was his pride and joy; two brothers, Francis Titchnell and Willard “Joe” Titchnell and wife, Brenda; two sisters, Beulah Gamble and husband, Robert and Alice Gamble; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Norma Everett, who was his caregiver, and Lorna Corley and husband, Dewaine; and his ex-wife, Sharon Titchnell. 

In addition to his parents, Dyer was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Titchnell, James “Buck” Titchnell and Harley “Pete” Titchnell; two sisters, Marie Sites and Mary Gamble; two brothers-in-law,Charles Gamble and William “Cocky” Gamble; a niece, Janie Gamble and nephew, Kenny Wolfe. 

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, W.Va. from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 15, and from 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, until the 2 p.m. time of service with Pastor Dewaine Corley officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
