James Clemens

James Albert Clemens, 75, of Maidsville, passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 25, 2024. 

He was born Aug. 20, 1948, in Dellslow, a son of the late William Jasper and Betty Lee Taylor Clemens. 

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Mary F. “Jackie” Clemens whom he married July 27, 2002; three children, Sue Sisler (Dave), Debbie Conner (Mark) and James Clemens Jr., of Maidsville; two step-children, William Demastes Sr., of Granville, and Sidney Porter Jr., from the United Kingdom; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; his siblings, William Clemens, of Grafton, Kathy Clemens, of Grafton, Robert Clemens, of Grafton, Rodney Clemens, of Ohio, Donna Drummond, of Bruceton Mills, Wanda Jackson, of Georgia, Joann Parks, of Grafton, Mary Drummond, of Granville, and Hazel Hanlin, of Reedsville; and several nieces and nephews. Also, he leaves behind his two dogs, Snuggles and Skipper. 

Mr. Clemens was a truck driver for many places including Parrotta Paving and the WV Division of Highways in Morgantown. A Methodist by faith, James loved to fish and hunt — especially with family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening. 

The family would like to thank Morgantown Hospice for all the hard work they have done to help and for being so kind and friendly to all of them. 

No public services are planned, and James’s request for cremation has been honored by his family.
