Rosalie McDonnell, 82, from Las Cruces, N.M. and Morgantown, passed away on May 18, 2024.
Rosalie was born July 21, 1941, to Selso and Virginia Garcia in Morgantown.
Rosalie was a loving wife to Perry L. McDonnell and a devoted and wonderful mother to her daughter, Lisa McDonnell and son, Perry McDonnell, (P.L.).
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa; son, Perry; sister, Florence Uphold; and brothers, Tony Garcia, Nick Garcia, Richard Gracia, Ralph Garcia; and her three granddaughters, Makayla, Cambria and Jaden McDonnell-Motes.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Perry; and two brothers, Augustine Garcia and Frankie Garcia.
Rosalie was a graduate from Point Marion High School in 1960 and later in life, graduated with an associate’s from New Mexico State University in 1996 and a bachelor’s in family, child and consumer science in 2000. She retired from New Mexico State University after working there for several years as an administrative assistant.
Rosalie was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile and grace would light up the entire room. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She was extremely kind, gentle, compassionate and had a positive impact on many lives around her. She will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
