Virginia Mae Stevens, 92, formerly of Morgantown, passed away at Maplewood Healthcare Center on Monday, May 20, 2024.
She was born Dec. 21, 1931, in Grafton, a daughter of the late Cecil and Rose Ellen (Parsons) Hawkins.
She formerly attended Spruce Street United Methodist Church and worked 21 years at Mon Point (now Morgantown Healthcare Center), before she retired to take care of her husband. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed her cats.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Cuppett; daughter-in-law, Ruth Stevens; grandchildren, Stephen Cuppett and his wife, Andrea, Michael Cuppett and his wife, Kayla, Douglas Cuppett and his wife, Annamarie and Brooke Brownley and her husband, Adam; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Frederick Stevens; son, William Frederick Stevens; three sisters; and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mon County Humane Society, P.O. Box 390, Morgantown, WV 26507.
