Roger Stuchell

Roger “Buck” Lee Stuchell, 77, of Reedsville, passed away May 17, 2024.

He was born Feb. 19, 1947, in Preston County, a son of the late Carney Melvin Stuchell and Ada Virginia (Warnick) Stuchell.

Roger was a decorated Vietnam War veteran, having served and retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years of service. After retiring from military service, he worked as a dispatcher and security officer for Camp Dawson and Mylan. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, fishing and playing cribbage and solitaire.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elanor Suzette (Street) Stuchell; one son, Kevin Stuchell and wife, Tracy, of Kingwood; one daughter, Sheneen Commodore and husband, Vincent, of Kingwood; four grandchildren, Dominick Commodore, of Nagoya, Japan, Kayla Ringer and husband, Ted, Isabella Commodore and Nathanial Stuchell, all of Kingwood; one great-granddaughter, Ellie Ringer, of Kingwood; three brothers, Delbert and Helen Stuchell, Joseph and Donna Stuchell and Mike Stuchell, all of Reedsville; one sister, Patty Martin, of Bruceton; one sister-in-law, Betty Stuchell, of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Stuchell and Charlie Stuchell; and one sister, Grace Booker and her husband, Walt.

At his request, cremation services will be arranged by Kingwood Funeral Home and Crematory. A military graveside service will be held at a later date with inurnment at the WV National Cemetery.
