Five candidates in three divisions vied for Monongalia County Circuit Court judge, a nonpartisan race.
In Division 1, the only contested seat, Michael Simms won by more than 1,000 votes.

Cindy Scott — 13,333

Magistrate Court
Ten nonpartisan candidates were on the ballot for Monongalia County magistrate in six divisions.
Ron Bane ran in Division 1, getting 12,505 votes.
Tim Pocius took 11,869 votes in Division 2.
Running in Division 3 were Pete Tennant and Charles Hartzog. Tennant won the seat 9,761 votes to Hartzon’s 3,340.
Division 4 had two candidates: incumbent Sandy Holepit and Arlie Campbell. Holepit doubled Campbell’s votes, winning re-election 9,654 to 4,774.
In Division 5, incumbent Ponch Reyes was on the ballot alone. He garnered 11,995 votes.
Division 6 had three candidates vying for that seat. They were Tonya Rogers, Curt Thomas and Mark Myers. Rogers took the seat with 4,643. Myers had 4,512 votes and Thomas had 4,331.
Family Court
Monongalia County Family Court is also nonpartisan.
Matthew Thorn was the lone candidate in Division 1. He received 12,652 votes.
Jeff Culpepper was alone on the ballot in Division 2. He received 12,918 votes.
All results are unofficial until the canvassing of votes at 9 a.m. Monday at Election Center.
