Anna Mae (McMillen) Thorne, 84, of Reedsville, passed away at Mountain Memories Assisted Living Center in Elkins on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
Born March 7, 1940, in Masontown, she was the daughter of the late Alva and Emma (Roby) McMillen.
After graduating from Morgantown Business College, Anna worked in Washington, D.C. She then returned home and worked as a secretary for Colshire and Preston Electric and Light. She was a member of the Masontown United Methodist Church and later, the Reedsville United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir. She enjoyed taking rides on scenic roads, picnics, and she loved wildflowers.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Thorne; one son, David Thorne; one daughter, Anita May; and one brother, Raymond McMillen; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Thorne; three brothers, Roy, Charles and Cecil; and two sisters, Bessie Haney and Helen Jenkins.
Family and friends will be received at Field Funeral Home from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, and from 10 a.m. on Monday, April 29, until the 11 a.m. service, with Pastor Lisa Fox officiating. Interment will be private.
