James Louk

James “Jim” Edward Louk, 74 of Tunnelton, Irish Ridge Community, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at his residence with family by his side.

Jim graduated from Newburg High School, Class of 1969. He enjoyed going hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Jim worked at CSX Transportation as a signalman for
11 years, also was a mechanic on and off for several years, and worked for the Preston County Board of Education as a bus driver with 11 years of service before retiring.

He was born on Nov. 19, 1949, in Grafton, son of the late Richard Goff Louk and Agnes Naomi (Adams) Louk.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Billie Sue (Smith) Louk, one daughter, Cynthia Ann Louk and Christopher Rogers, Tunnelton; one son, Steven Ray Louk and wife, Angela, Gassaway; five grandchildren, Samantha Louk, Brittany Collins and Everett, David Louk and Crystal, Alisa Louk and Shayla Louk, step-grandchild, Christina Rogers and Carl; three great-grandchildren, Ivory Louk and Bryer Louk and Kayden Rogers; two sisters-in-law, Sandy (Jim) Chambers of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Carolyn (Roger) Riggs of Rowlesburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his, stepmother, Goldie Louk; one great-granddaughter, Braylen Louk; one stepgrandchild, Charles Rogers; paternal grandparents, Gordon and Mary Louk, maternal grandparents, Clyde and Sadie Adams, mother and father-in-law, Clifford Hunter and Martha Evelyn (Burke) Smith, one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Bill McCrobie and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg, on Wednesday April 3, 2024, 3-7 p.m. and on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dave Biggins officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank WV Caring, for all the love and support during this difficult time.
