Barbara Myers

Barbara Lee Myers, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024, at her home in Morgantown, the same town where her story began on Feb. 4, 1941.
Born to the late Harry and Juanita Hershman Johnson, Barbara’s life was a testament to kindness and devotion.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of
63 years, Billy Myers, who was her partner in both life’s adventures and tranquil moments spent watching the neighborhood’s bustle from their porch.
Her legacy continues through her sons, Gary (Stephenie) Myers and Scott (the late Susan) Myers, who will carry forward her spirit of unconditional love. As a cherished sister to Robert Johnson, Bonnie (Gene) Collins, and Roberta Gaspar, and predeceased by her sister Betty Johnson, Barbara’s family ties were a source of enduring strength and unity.

Barbara was a dedicated pinner at the Morgan Shirt Factory. Yet, her favorite role was that of matriarch, celebrating life’s joys as a grandmother of six and great-grandmother of seven, each of whom brought boundless joy to her heart.

To be with her family was to be in Barbara’s favorite place, and she thrived in the warmth of family gatherings. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever cherish memories of her unwavering love.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Barbara will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Memorial
Gardens.
