Charles R. Lewis, 76, of Terra Alta, passed away Monday, Feb. 5,2024, at Preston Memorial Hospital with family by his side.
The son of the late Charles W. and Wildean Lowers Lewis, he was born Oct. 22, 1947, in Terra Alta.
Charlie was a proud employee of Hopemont Hospital where he served as the CFO. He was very thankful for the staff there. He was also a successful businessman who was always supportive of the community. He loved his farm, making hay and his tractors.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was an avid football fan, he enjoyed Miller Lite and Wild Turkey/Rare Breed. He liked to golf and was an all-around sportsman in his younger years. He loved porch sitting and having bonfires.
He was a very proud husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patty J. Lewis; children, Charles Ricky (Caroline) Lewis, William Walter Lewis, Summer Lee (Harold) Fearer, Chole Holland Warren and Gabrielle Leah (Issiah) Sheets; grandchildren, Emma, Tony, Brandon, Gabby, Reno, Blayne, Ethan, Logan, Leah, Lexi and Alex; great-grandchildren, Breeden, Bryson and Eli; brother, Roger A. Lewis, M.D. and wife Linda; sister, Norma J. (John) Keim, all of Terra Alta; and his favorite pets, Minni and Penny.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Breezy Warren.
A memorial service will be held at Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home with visiting from 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, until the 5 p.m. time of service. Military rites will be conducted by the Preston County Honor Guard.
