Nicholas Apostolou

Dr. Nicholas “Nick” Apostolou died Feb. 5, 2024, at the age of 81, in Morgantown.

He is survived by Barbara Apostolou, his wife of 37 years.

Nick was a CPA and proud alumnus of The University of Tennessee (doctorate), UCLA (MBA), and Union College (BS). He enjoyed a rewarding career as a Professor of Accounting with emeritus status at LSU and WVU.

He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam War veteran. Nick was baptized into the Greek Orthodox faith.

He was a world traveler who identified his most memorable journeys as his visits to the Mount Athos monasteries in Greece and a trip to observe the wildlife in Kenya.

He also is survived by one brother in Corning, New York, Constantine Apostolou; and two sisters in Atlanta, Ga., Anna Apostolou and Stella Smith.

Much gratitude goes to Morgantown Hospice (Amedisys) for the compassionate care provided to him during his extended illness.

Nick’s request for cremation will be honored by his family. No services will be held.

Memorial donations to the Ventana Wildlife Society would honor his lifetime devotion to wildlife conservation (https://www.ventanaws.org/donatetocondorrecovery.html).
