Nancy Phillips

Nancy Kay Phillips, passed away peacefully on Feb. 4, 2024, at the age of 85, in her hometown of Morgantown, where she was also born on Oct. 31, 1938. She embodied the spirit of kindness in every aspect of her life and left a legacy of love and warmth that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Before retiring, Nancy was the proud owner and operator of a local greenhouse, where she cultivated beauty and shared her passion for flora with the community. Her dedication to the Snider Temple United Methodist Church was evident through her active membership and unwavering faith.

Nancy’s love for her family was boundless. She is survived by her son, Charles “Danny” Phillips, and her daughter-in-law, Patricia Phillips. She also leaves behind her sister, Barbara Clevenger (Richard).

Nancy was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert E. Phillips; and her sons, Robert Michael Phillips and Paul Allen Phillips; as well as her parents, William Charles Ammons and Elizabeth Perkins Ammons.

Her fondness for gardening reflected her nature; she nurtured her relationships with as much care as her cherished plants. Nancy’s legacy will continue to bloom in the hearts of those she touched. The world is indeed brighter for having been graced by Nancy’s presence. She will be deeply missed.

Friends and family will be received at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Rd., Morgantown, from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Visitation will continue on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service with John Neely officiating. Following the service, Nancy will be laid to rest at Arnettsville Cemetery.
