Martha Ellen (Tennant) Fetty, 95, passed from this life to return to her Heavenly Father on Jan. 8, 2024, peacefully in the home which she had made with her daughter, Sharon, having her family around her.
Martha was born on Aug. 20, 1928, at States Fork, Marion County. She was the youngest of five children born to the late Benjamin Harrison Tennant and Alice Evelyn (Rice) Tennant.
She married Russell Franklin Fetty on Dec. 18, 1948, and had six children, Evelyn LaRene (Lynn) Rector, Fern Renee (Gregory) Straub, Sharon Louise (Donald) VanGilder, Charles Russell (Jill) Fetty, Thomas Jeffery (Patti) Fetty, Mary Kathleen “Katy” (Gary) Shreve;
27 grandchildren, and
47 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home, Masontown, from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, and on Friday, Jan. 12, from
10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. time of service with Bishop Robert Bolyard. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery, Morgantown.
Martha will be missed by family and friends. The family would like to express appreciation to West Virginia Caring for their help in Mom’s care in her final days.
