Arthurdale Heritage Inc. has a few changes and additions coming this week and into the new year.
To let staff spend time with their families, the center will be closed through Jan. 1, resuming regular hours Jan. 2
Interwoven exhibit
The temporary exhibit, Interwoven: The Fiber Arts Legacy of Arthurdale is open for just a few more weeks, closing for good on Jan. 12. You can visit the exhibit for free during the center’s hours of operation — 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday.
AHI’s Appalachian Book Club
A new book club will begin Jan. 16. The Appalachian Book Club will meet from 6-8 p.m. the third Tuesday of every month for group discussions of books written by Appalachian authors.
Members will deepen their understandings of Appalachia, past and present; read some incredible books by West Virginian and other regional writers; explore literary forms and devices; and have fun.
This event is free, but those wanting to participate are asked to register so AHI knows how many to expect.
The first meeting will take place Jan. 16 and the book is Storming Heaven by Denise Giardina. Visit the AHI Facebook page for more information on the book and where to find it.
