Rev. Winfield Scotty Mayle, 93, of Bruceton Mills, answered his final call, on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, with a smile on his face. He answered the first call when the Lord called him into the ministry. He was born June 9, 1930, in Moatsville, son of the late Jared and Viola Mayle Mayle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Kathleen Maley Mayle, March 28, 2019.
Winfield was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, He was a true Minister of the Word of God in the church. He started sharing the Word in Barbour County at Olive Hill, did over 650 funerals and has preached spreading the word in many states, including Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Winfield was a mechanic and worked at many garages sharing his talent of working on about any kind of vehicle. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Winfield loved the time he spent with his friends, and family especially his grandchildren sharing stories and good memories.
He is survived by one son, John Mayle of Bruceton Mills; three grandchildren, Willis “Bub” Livengood, Olivia Davis, Misti Rae Colebank (Terry); five great-grandchildren, Tucker, Aiden, Noah, Colton, and Dominick
In addition to his parents and wife, Winfield was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Debbie Livengood; two sisters, Geraldine Mayle and Luvenia Mayle; two brothers, Versel “Dick” Mayle, and Jerry Mayle; grandson-in-law, Brian Colebank; granddaughter-in-law, Nikki Livengood.

Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15. Funeral services will be held at Bartlett Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, with Rev. David Blowers, Rev. Joseph Smith and Rev. Mark Miller and officiating. Interment will follow at the Pritchard Cemetery. Bartlett Funeral Home is honored to serve the Mayle family.
