Santa gave Rudolph and the rest of his reindeer the day off on Friday, opting for another ride known for the color red.
Father Christmas showed up at WVU Medicine Children’s on a Morgantown Fire Department ladder truck. He made the most of the vehicles bells and whistles, too, soaring up to the hospital’s top-floor windows in the 100-foot ladder extension.
After that, Santa took some time to visit the Family Resource Center for photos with staff, patients and their families.
“We know this is an extremely busy time at the North Pole, so the fact that the Morgantown Fire Department was able to get Santa to come visit our patients and families is incredible,” said Marisa Sayre, executive director of development, marketing, and communications at WVU Medicine Children’s. “Seeing the kids’ faces light up is what the holiday season is all about. We are extremely grateful to our community who continue to show up and make this time of year magical for the kids and families who trust us with their care.”
