Phyllis June Ord, 75, formerly of Westover, passed away Dec. 2, 2023, at the Orchards at Fox Lane in Chester. Phyllis was born in Jane Lew, on July 12, 1948, to the late Walter and Cora V. Rogers Hicks.
Phyllis worked for many years as an elementary school teacher in Monongalia County and was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa, a Professional Teaching Sorority. She enjoyed all things relating to children and their education and growth as individuals.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles H. “Chuck” Ord, Jr.; daughter, Cassandra “Cassie” M. Ord (Sean Mentnech) of Morgantown; son, Chad M. Ord (Ashley Ord) of Bruceton Mills; grandchildren, Colton and Cooper Ord; sister, Sandra L. Smith of Jane Lew; brother, Douglas D. Hicks, Sr., of Hookstown, Pa.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by sister, Glenna Bleigh, and brother, Roger Hicks.
Family and friends will be received at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Rd. Westover, from 4 p.m. on Friday Dec. 8, until the 6 p.m. memorial service with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
