Robert William “Bob” Hart, 83, of Westover, passed away Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, at Genesis Healthcare — Madison Center in Morgantown after a long period of declining health.
Born Sept. 30, 1940, in Pursglove, Bob was son of the late Charles and Elva Lavina Hyatt Hart.
Bob is survived by his wife of 20 years, Glenda Jean Jordan Hart. The couple had been together for 40 years total. Additionally, Bob leaves to cherish his memory his children, Tani and husband Ron Mellinger, Todd Hart, Larry Hart, Misty and husband Chris Hurt, and stepdaughter Loretta Lawson; two grandchildren Krista Hart and Corey Hurt; a great-grandson Bentley; his brothers, Sam and wife Patricia Hart, and David Riley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Holly Shenk; four sisters Maryann, Peggy, Sharon, and an infant sister; and five brothers Earnest “Ernie,” Gary, Buck, Glenn, and Dennis, Jr.
The family wishes to extend a very sincere thank you to the nurses and staff at the Madison Center for their excellent care of Bob over his 15 months as a resident there; the Granville United Methodist Church, Pastor Jim Weber and his wife Kay, and their church family for their love and support; and Diana Tiberi and all of the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice for being there through this journey with Bob.
A memorial service to honor Bob’s life and legacy will be held at the Granville United Methodist Church, 52 Gilchrist St., Granville, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, officiated by Pastor Jim Weber.
