Despite the mercury dipping below freezing Monday morning and work crews setting the stage for Christmas downtown, weather forecasts don’t plunge us into winter just yet.
Monday’s morning fog and low temperatures in the 30s made room for a pleasant afternoon with the mercury inching up to the mid-60s.
AccuWeather meteorologists say there’s more of that to come this week.
Today’s high is expected to be 75 with sunny skies. Forecasters say it will be a good afternoon for outdoor activities.
Wednesday and Thursday will be about the same, but with a few clouds.
Friday will be pushing toward the record-high temperature of 82, set in 1897, according to AccuWeather.com. The Friday high is forecast for 78 with mostly sunny skies.
Forecasters say we can expect the late season warmth to continue over the weekend with highs of 75 and mostly cloudy skies both days.
