Florence Robison

Florence Marie Robison, 93, of Westover went to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Florence was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Rex Bolyard and Mildred Flowers Bolyard.

Florence spent her early years working at Morgan Shirt Factory, Buccini’s Dairy Bar, etching glass at a local glass factory and traveling and living in both California and Illinois while her husband was in the Air Force, but spent most of her life as a homemaker, wife and mother.

Florence was the oldest member of her family and an avid genealogist. She was an accomplished crocheter, creating many beautiful afghans, collecting and keeping photo albums, which were her treasures, and reading Christian books. Florence was Apostolic by faith.

Florence is survived by her son, Roger Robison; two daughters, Linda (Jimmy) Calvert and Amy (Tom) Forman; grandchildren, Kathy (John) Tanton, Karen (John) Horner, Krystal (Anne) Calvert, Christopher (Carly) Larsok and Sammy Larsok; great-grandchildren, Jonathan (Savannah) Tanton and Kaleb Tanton; two sisters, Mary Lou Savage and Barbara Gooden; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Elmer Clark Robison; brother, Raymond Bolyard; brothers-in-law, Wilbur (Sonny) Savage and Ron Gooden; and infant brother and sister, Robert Wayne Bolyard and Rose Marie Bolyard, who both died in infancy.

The family would like to thank WV Caring Hospice for their help and exceptional care, especially Meagan, Bunny and Carla.

Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. funeral service with the Rev. Max Humphreys officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.
