Evilee Janet Iden (Beyer), 96, of Davis, passed away Oct. 10, 2023, in Okeechobee, Fla. She was born Nov. 26, 1926.
Evilee was a caring and hardworking individual who dedicated her career as the secretary of the First Baptist Church in Morgantown and later as the secretary to the Dean of the West Virginia University College of Law.
Evilee was a beloved mother who is survived by her son Robert (Ginger) Iden, of Nitro; daughter-in-law Deborah Iden, of Oak Island, N.C.; and brother-in-law Warren (Mel) Heath, of Painesville, Ohio. She was also a cherished grandmother to Beth (Matt) Galvin, of Chocowinity, N.C., Robert (Kristin) Iden, of Chesapeake, Ohio, Marissa Iden Boulware (Jim), of Menomonee, Wis., Kristi (Jay) Dulaney, of Lawrenceburg, Ind., Lori (Ryan) Tyree, of Morgantown, and Justin (Amanda) Iden, of Cross Lanes. Evilee leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Evilee was preceded in death by her parents Nora and Ernest George (EG) Beyer, her son Terry Lee Iden and great-grandson Samuel Tramontana.
In her free time, Evilee enjoyed playing golf, supporting Mountaineer football, reading and playing cards. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lehigh Acres, Fla.
A memorial service to celebrate Evilee’s life will be held at a later date in West Virginia. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Buxton and Bass in Okeechobee, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, West Virginia Chapter.
