Peggy Kisner

Peggy Ann Kisner, 74, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at the home she shared with her beloved friends and caregivers, Dean and Judy Cale and James McGilton.  

She was born April 2, 1949, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Thomas Mayle and the late Violet Mae Piper.  

Peggy is survived by her siblings Linda Parrotta (Sam), of Florida, Aaron Murphy, of Morgantown, Sue Nuce (Kevin), of Morgantown; her stepsisters Boo and Deb, of Morgantown; and her grandchildren, Ronnie Starkey (Gina), of Pennsylvania, Traci Starkey (Robert), of Morgantown, Angel Starkey (Jonathan), of Morgantown, and Jonathan Howard (Victoria), of Pennsylvania; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Kisner; daughters Angie Starkey and Linda Kisner; and her siblings Rosie Mayle, Theresa Murphy and Merle Murphy.  

Peggy was a member of the Vision of Hope Outreach Church. She was an avid reader. She loved going to yard sales and playing solitaire. Peggy was known to make some of the best bread you’ve ever had. Peggy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who took pride in being an active part in her all of their upbringings and was a mother figure to many others beyond her family.  

At her request, Peggy will be cremated.  A memorial service in her honor will be held at the Vision of Hope Outreach, 101 North Metro Dr., Morgantown, WV 26501, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, with a dinner to follow for those in attendance.
