With its Sept. 13-14 presentation of “Bluey’s Big Play” and Monday night’s Old Crow Medicine Show concert, the University Arts Series is underway.
There are still lots of opportunities to catch a show.
The 2023-24 entertainment lineup features musical favorites like Blues Traveler, The Temptations and the Four Tops, as well as nationally touring performances of such stage hits as “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “The Book of Mormon.”
Seasonal offerings include Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis and the Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet.
Each show will be held in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre at the WVU Candady Arts Center.

- “Jesus Christ Superstar” — 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10. — A rock opera musical that takes place during the final weeks of the life of Jesus, told through the perspective of Judas.

November
- “The Book of Mormon” — 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 — A Broadway musical by the creators of South Park, this musical comedy follows two missionaries as they try to spread their faith in a Ugandan village.
- Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis — 7:30 p.m. Nov. 27 — The Grammy award-winning band will be performing a compellation of Mannheim Steamroller Christmas classics.

- The Cher Show — 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12 — A Tony Award-winning musical about the life of Cher.
- Johnny Cash — The Official Concert Experience — 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23 — The closest thing to seeing him live, this concert features video of Johnny Cash from his TV show with a live band and singers performing alongside the recordings in perfect sync.
