Leroy Earl Tennant, age 92, of Core, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Leroy was born Oct. 30, 1930, a son of the late Ralph Clay Tennant and Mary Edna Henderson Tennant.
Leroy was retired mechanic with the Monongalia County Board of Education. Leroy was a longstanding member of the Dolls Run Christian Church and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and splitting wood
Leroy is survived by three sons, Jerry Tennant (Kim), Neil Tennant (Carol) and Kevin Tennant; one sister, Rose Marie Malott, of Core; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Tennant; his daughter-in-law, Sheryll Tennant; one sister, Margaret Jane Stout; and one brother, Denzil Tennant.
Funeral services were held at the Dolls Run Christian Church on Tuesday, Aug. 15, with Pastor Jerry Teter officiating. Burial was at Dolls Run Cemetery. The family requests that donations be made in Leroy’s memory to WV Caring, PO Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
