Bessie Pearl Murray, 100, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2023, at Windy Hill Village in Kingwood. She was born on March 30, 1923, in Morgantown, to William and Jessie Brewer McCormick.
Bessie worked at Conners Cleaners in Morgantown for many years. She was a devoted member of the Nazarene faith.
Bessie had a deep love for travel, especially to Hawaii, Germany and Atlantic City with her daughters. She enjoyed attending dances at the local VFW and was known for her homemaking skills, including her passion for cooking, baking and holiday shopping.
Bessie is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Bill) Bee, of Core, and Kimberly (Eddie) Galusky, of Morgantown; grandchildren, William White, Michele Shaver and Amber Galusky; nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Murray, six brothers, three sisters and grandson, Colin Shaver.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, June 19. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, officiated by Pastor Tim Warnick. Entombment will follow at the Beverly Hills Mausoleum.
