As reported by The Dominion Post on Sunday, Main Street Morgantown announced the return of the annual West Virginia Birthday Party, commemorating the state’s 160th birthday, to downtown.
The event will run from noon-5 p.m. Saturday.
Enjoy local and regional bands like PopShop, Megan Jeans, and the Cooley Gang with your family for free. Browse beer, wine and food vendors stationed on High Street.
Attendees can commemorate the experience by purchasing beer in a special edition commemorative cup, with two beer fills. All tickets and cups for beer can be purchased on the official West Virginia Birthday Party website, https://gcevents.ticketspice.com/wv-birthday-party-2023.
Festivities will also include a West Virginia birthday ceremony, where attendees can witness a symbolic cake-cutting, along with words from Wren Baker, WVU athletic director, at 3 p.m.
Funds raised during the West Virginia Birthday Party will support Main Street Morgantown, the Morgantown History Museum, and M.T. Pockets theater company.
