Mrs. Luella Jane (Ware) Everitt, age 91, a resident of the Quiet Dell Community, Harrison County, departed this life early Monday morning June 12, 2023, at her home.
She was born March 4, 1932, at Belington, a daughter of the late Darl E. and Vanda Hazel Olinda Offhaus Ware. On May 19, 1951, at Belington, she was united in marriage to George Lewis Everitt who preceded her in death on March 30, 2015.
She is survived by one son, Tim Everitt and wife Melody of Belington; five daughters, Diane Isenberg and husband Gerry of Fredericksburg, Va., Carla Higginbotham of Good Hope, Jane Connor and husband Tom of Clarksburg, Elaine Everitt and husband Dan Cicero of Morgantown, Janet Everitt and husband Joe Robertson of Mt. Morris, Pa., and a bonus daughter; Tammy Compton of Morgantown. She is also survived by one sister, Ruth Ware Phillips and husband Bob of Belington; and one brother, Frederick D. Ware of Manchester, Conn., sisters-in-law, Anna Jean Ware and Millie Ware. Grandchildren surviving are Ryan Connor and wife Kuen, Melissa Spires and husband John, Kristen Scharnhorst and husband Scott, Kimberly Higginbotham and companion Peter Rohn, Max Robertson, and Eliza Cole and husband Hayden; great-grandchildren surviving are Bebhinn, Godric, George and Finn Sharnhorst, Drew and Olivia Spires, Nora and Louis Connor. Additional survivors include several stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a whole host of friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Everitt is preceded in death by a grandson, Michael E. Isenberg; a son-in-law, Jim Higginbotham; a great-granddaughter, Fiona Jane Spires; and two brothers, Carl Joseph Ware and Keith Eugene Ware,
Mrs. Everitt was a 1950 graduate of the Belington High School and was a member of the Belington Presbyterian Church but attended Quiet Dell United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Quiet Dell Garden Club, where she was honored by the club with lifetime membership. She also belonged to the Quiet Dell CEOS and had formerly volunteered at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. Mrs. Everitt had many favorite things. She enjoyed her flower gardens, going on family vacations, visiting family camping at Audra, watching the Hallmark channel, and attending the annual Ware and Conte reunions in Belington. Most importantly, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and the time she spent with them. She also appreciated long phone conversations with family and friends. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington from 1-8 p.m. on Thursday June 15, and again on Friday June 16, from 8-11 a.m. the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor George Bramble and Pastor Jennifer Sayers. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington, WV. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Luella Jane (Ware) Everitt.
