David Blaine Richards, 65, of Masontown, formerly of Morgantown, passed peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023, following a long battle with dementia. David was born March 18, 1958, in Parkersburg, son of Othel Paul and Flora V. Daily Richards.
David worked as a machinist for Morgantown Machine and Hydraulics before his health would no longer permit it. He was also a minister in the Church of God, where he shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His faith has now become sight.
He is survived by his two sons and their spouses, Blaine (Lindsay) Richards, of Masontown, and Ryan (Rebekah) Richards, of Norfolk, Va. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Collin, Lincoln, Anna, Walker, Peyton, Callie, Meredith, Nora, Salem and Hazel; and one brother, Phillip (Linda) Richards of Buckhannon.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Othel Paul Richards Jr.
To honor David’s minimalistic way of life, there will be a gathering of friends and family for celebration at Harvest Family Worship Center, 800 Green Bag Road, Morgantown, from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, May 25. Cremation was arranged by the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home.
