The public is invited to enjoy an afternoon at Monongalia County Courthouse Square where all can gather, relax and enjoy the arts.
From 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, the Courthouse Square on High Street, downtown Morgantown, will become a place to eat lunch, see friends and check out community artists.
The event is organized by Pop-Up Plaza with Main Street Morgantown.
There will be live music by Matt’s Blues, interactive art-making activities for everyone, fun yard-sized games, a coffee stand and benches and seating. The theme of this event is “Building.” Whether building community or appreciating the downtown’s historic atmosphere, this event encourages citizens to celebrate Main Street Morgantown’s Historic Preservation Month initiative. Attendees may visit Main Street’s website (downtownmorgantown.com) for “Square Deal” takeaway lunch specials from downtown businesses. More information about Pop-Up Plaza is available on Facebook @Pop-Up Plaza Morgantown and website bit.ly/popupplaza.
Various community organizations such as Spark! Imagination and Science Center, Morgantown Public Library and Morgantown Art Party will add to the liveliness. Citizenry and local government officials will be encouraged to attend.
This arts and community event is for people who live, work, or love downtown. Citizens are invited to enjoy their downtown public spaces, visit downtown eateries and enjoy the wellness benefits of engaging in creative activity during the lunch hour.
