There were caps and gowns a plenty Wednesday in Woodburn Circle and other points downtown as soon-to-be alumni got a jump on commencement activities.
West Virginia University hosted Grad Fest at several downtown campus spots, including in front of the Mountainlair and on the E. Moore Hall lawn.
Students gathered under cloudless, sunny skies for activities, games, giveaways, live entertainment, free WVU Alumni T-shirts and more.
Mountaineers could also pose — dressed in full commencement regalia, of course — for a free professional photo in front of Woodburn Hall.
WVU graduation ceremonies begin Friday and continue throughout the weekend.
