Vickie Nicholson

Vickie Lynn Muster Nicholson, 67, of Morgantown, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 2, 2023, at her home following a brief, but very brave fight with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Born September 29, 1955 in Morgantown, Vickie was a daughter of the late Charles and Bonita Gabbert Muster.

Vickie is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Larry Nicholson; her son and daughter-in-law Ryan and Angie Nicholson of Morgantown; four grandchildren Clifton, Nate, Morgan and Dominic; her siblings Kathy McCallum of Hillsboro, OR and Robert Muster and wife Bonnie of Morgantown; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including two specials nieces, Tracy and Kim; and her best friend for many years, Bobbie Cumpston of Morgantown.

Vickie was simply one of the finest human beings to ever walk this earth. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who could never see wrong with anyone and friended nearly everyone she came in contact with.

She worked for several years at the former McVicker Pharmacy, and lastly for more than 20 years at Hall and Hall Dermatology in Suncrest before retiring. After her retirement, she came to be a greeter and care team member with her friends at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care until her health no longer permitted.

Vickie enjoyed camping, fishing, kayaking, gardening, and being with family. She always looked forward to spending time with her “bestie”, Bobbie. But above all, the center of her world was her grandson, Dominic.

Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown, is honored, but heartbroken to care for our dear friend Vickie. Friends may join the family to honor her life and legacy with visitation at the funeral home from noon – 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, and again from 10 a.m. on Monday, May 8 until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. officiated by Reverend J.B. Blankenship – Coombs. Following the funeral service, Vickie will be laid to rest with her parents at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
