Mary Ann (Lucci) Dalzot, 95, of The Villages of Heritage Point, Morgantown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, April 13, 2023.
Mary Ann was born March 5, 1928, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Attilio and Italia Lucci.
She was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, the Canasta Card Club and the Pines Country Club.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by the love of her life of 64 years, Hugo J. Dalzot, on Feb. 18, 2011. They are once again reunited, and Hugo can finally tell her all of his new jokes that he has patiently been saving.
Mary Ann was always so proud of her family, and if you were lucky enough to speak with her, you know she had four children, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is survived by her children: Diane Jolliffe, of Bluffton, S.C.; Rick and wife Kathy (Tarantini) Dalzot, Karen and husband, Carmen Gutta Jr., Kim and husband Frank Gutta III, of Morgantown; 10 grandchildren: Amy (Jolliffe) Eby and husband, Peter, of Seattle, Brian Jolliffe and wife, Melissa, of Troy, Mo., Nicholas Dalzot, of Morgantown, Lucy (Dalzot) Gizzi and husband, Jason, of Morgantown; Maria (Dalzot) Davis and husband, Tad, of Bellingham, Wash., Kayla (Gutta) Cook and husband Zach, of Morgantown; Lindsay (Gutta) Reed and husband, Zach, of Parker, Colo.; Anthony Gutta, of Blaine, Minn., Lauren (Gutta) Matini and husband Imad, of Vienna, Va., and Ashley (Gutta) Perrotta and husband Matt, of Cary, N.C.; 20 great-grandchildren: Jacob and Morgan Eby, Kayla (Coleman) Kane and husband Nicholas, Emma and Lilly Jolliffe, Domenic, Matteo, Luca, Gabriella, Lorenzo, Giuliana and Giovanni Gizzi, Landon, Peyton and Camryn Cook, Tripp and Rhett Reed and Vincent and Sophia Matini; one great-great-grandson, Lincoln Kane; brother, August “Augie” Lucci, of Morgantown; sister, Virginia Gibson, of Hampton, Va.; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Lucci, of Morgantown, and Jean Ann Dalzot Johnson, of Bruceton Mills; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Florence (Steve) Lorenze, Tresa (Oogie) Sordi, Ennis (John) DeMichele, Arlene (Carl) Jernejcic, Mickey (Wanda) Lucci, James (Mary) Lucci, Attillio (Maxine) Lucci and Abraham Lucci; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Lucci; brother-in-law, Charles N. Gibson; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19. A vigil service will take place at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the evening visiting. Visitation will continue at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 20 with Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, STD, VE as celebrant. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown.
