Lucille (Miner) Grimm, 87, of Rowlesburg, departed this life on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown. Her husband, Clarence Joseph Grimm, whom she married on March 10, 1956, preceded her in death May 29, 1994.
She was born on Oct. 29, 1935, in St. George, a daughter of the late Everett Gay and Rosa Mae (Loughry) Miner. Lucille was a 1954 graduate of Rowlesburg High School and worked for Sterling Faucet for many years. She was also a licensed EMT since the 1970s, having worked for Rowlesburg Ambulance Service. Lucille enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, playing cards, puzzles and bingo and enjoyed being involved in community social events. She was a member of the Rowlesburg United Methodist Church, founder, life member, curator and treasurer of the Rowlesburg Area Historical Society, a 50-year member of the Rowlesburg Chapter #127 O.E.S. and Cannon Hill Post #3008 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Lucille never new a stranger and was always out in the public.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph “Joe” Gregory Grimm and wife Betty, of Rowlesburg, Robert “Bob” Charles Grimm and wife Paula, of Rowlesburg, Michael “Mike” Lee Grimm, of Leesville, S.C.; one daughter, Patricia Lynn “PL” Grimm Darlington and husband Neil, of Rowlesburg; and two grandsons, Caleb Jordan Grimm and Daniel Matthew Grimm.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lee Miner, and Donald Gay Miner, and one sister Wilma Jean Mackoviak.
Friends will be received at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price St., Kingwood, from 4-8 p.m., on Sunday, March 26, and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Monday, March 27. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 27. The Rev. Kevin Keplinger officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
