Jennifer Mae Simmons, 44, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, at home, following a more than two decades long battle with Crone’s disease. Jennifer was born Aug. 28, 1978, in Morgantown, a daughter of Glenna Simmons Foster and the late Steven Simmons.
She was a 1996 graduate of Preston High School, where she excelled at theater, dance and choir, showcasing her beautiful singing voice. An avid reader and traveler, Jennifer enjoyed employment in many fields in West Virginia, Colorado and Florida. Her true gift was being a compassionate listener. She met everyone she encountered as valuable with a compassionate heart.
Jennifer is survived by her mother, Glenna Simmons Foster and stepfather, Benjamin Foster, of Kingwood; two siblings, Jeffrey Simmons, of Terra Alta, and Monica Ammons and husband Greg Phillips, of Buckhannon; three nephews, Dane Ammons, of Kennesaw Ga., Rhett Ammons, of Buckhannon, and Marcus Simmons, of Terra Alta; and many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Steven Simmons.
