Frank and Connie Merandi celebrated 40 years of love and business Tuesday with an open house marking 40 years owning and running a dress shop together in downtown Morgantown.
Coni & Franc, a formalwear boutique at 422 High St., was started by the couple in 1982.
The pair brought in champagne, food, music and special sales for the occasion.
Both Connie and Frank are WVU graduates. Connie had a background in design and Frank in business when the two came together as a couple and as business partners.
Connie attributes the success of their shop to the customer service they insist on.
“The two of us together continually changed the scope of the business and refined it to a point where we specialize in customer service,” Connie has said. “We take excellent care of our clients, and that’s why we have some that have shopped with us and then brought in their daughters and are now bringing in their granddaughters, too.”
It’s not unusual to find both husband and wife in the store on a Saturday, working with a soon-to-be bride or helping find the perfect jewelry for a gala.
The store is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays. It is closed Sundays.
Consultation appointments can be made by phone 304-296-9466 or through the website at https://www.coniandfranc.net/book-online.
Walk-ins are also welcome.
