Clarksburg — Members of the U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office and the Morgantown Police Department arrested a Morgantown man wanted for homicide.
Chance Austin Williams, 23, of Morgantown, was taken into custody near the 1000 block of White Avenue without incident.
Williams has been on the run for over a week after being identified by Mon sheriff’s deputies as the primary suspect in the murder of Jamey Lynn Corbin, 47 of Fairmont.
Williams’ last known location was the White Avenue area, where he was seen on foot.
Corbin was found dead in a crashed car around 4 a.m. Nov. 15. His injuries did not jibe with those caused by an auto accident.
The U.S. Marshals Service, Northern District of West Virginia, Mountain State Fugitive Task Force was requested to assist in the fugitive investigation. U.S. U.S. Marshals requested the assistance of Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office and the Morgantown Police Department, and Williams was taken into custody without incident.
