Donna Marie (Jones) Whisler, 77, of Morgantown, died on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born on Sept. 7, 1945, in Morgantown, and grew up in the Granville area.
Donna is survived by sons, David A. (Mary) Whisler, of Gladesville, and Timothy E. (Stephanie) Whisler, of Morgantown; grandchildren, Hannah Whisler and Zackery Weese; sisters, Judy (Laverne) Haines and Sandy Jones, both of Morgantown, brother John C. (Robin) Jones also of Morgantown; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Earl and Susan Jones, and son, Steven T. Whisler.
Donna graduated from University High School in Morgantown in 1963. She and her former husband, Edwin Whisler Jr. operated Whisler Floor Covering for several years in the Morgantown area.
She was associated with the Morgantown congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In keeping with her wishes, the gift of life was shared with others through organ and tissue donation.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the caring staff of CORE, the MICU at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital as well as all those who took time out of their busy workday to take part in the Honor Walk. You all made this difficult time a little easier to bear.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
