Ethel Thomas

Ethel Mae Thomas, 82, of Kingwood, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, at the Preston Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 5, 1940, in Albright and was a daughter of the late Junior C. DeBerry and Virginia (Metheny) DeBerry Tanner.

She is survived by five sons and spouses, Marvin Thomas Jr. and Vickie, of Newburg, James Thomas, of Morgantown, Christopher Thomas, Bryson Lynn Thomas and Sherry and Terry Thomas and Robin, all of Kingwood; four daughters and spouses, Barbara and Robert Hornyak, of Arthurdale, Wilma Sargent, of Kingwood, Christina and David Reams, of Merkel, Texas, Sherry Thomas of Abilene, Texas; two brothers, Thomas DeBerry, of Bethel, Ohio, Robert DeBerry, of Albright, and a half-brother, Ronald DeBerry, of Braxton, Miss.; one sister, Pat Taylor, of Kingwood; one stepsister, Carolyn DeWitt Exline, of Lumberport; one half-sister, Dianne Stonebraker, of Bruceton Mills; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, and in-laws.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ray Thomas Sr.; three brothers, James DeBerry, David Carl DeBerry and Terry Lee Thomas; half-brother, Michael Dean Thomas; stepbrother, David Gene DeWitt DeBerry; and her stepmother, Mary A. Sisler DeWitt DeBerry.

Friends will be received at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price St., Kingwood, from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, and at Kingwood Funeral Home Chapel from noon-1 p.m., the funeral hour, on Monday, Nov. 7, with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Valley Point.
