Carmella “Tootsie” Ervin, 84, of Morgantown passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side. Tootsie was born April 12, 1938, in Morgantown a daughter of the late Mike and Mary Rock Fata.
Carmella had worked as a hairdresser and then became the secretary for the family business for many years, but her greatest joy was being with her family and friends. Tootsie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved greatly and will be deeply missed by all.
Carmella is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lewis “Lou” Ervin; two sons, Randy (Shawn) and Rick (Barbara Harvey), all of Morgantown; one grandson, Matthew (Stephanie) Ervin; and many nieces and nephews, that she thought of as her own.
In addition to her parents, Carmella was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Solomon and Rose Hellyer, and three brothers, Anthony Fata, Frank Fata and John Fata.
McCulla Funeral Home provided cremation services and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
