Waneta J. Shank, 99, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at the Madison Center.
She was born in Morgantown on Jan. 3, 1923. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, many arts and crafts, and especially cherished time with her family.
Waneta was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Elwood Shank; her sisters, Vivian Gallagher and Louise Davis; and one brother, Robert “Bob” Forbes.
She is survived by her sons; Ronald and Nancy Shank, of Morgantown, David and Susan Shank, of Hamilton, Ohio; and her granddaughter, Sheri and Stephen Latta, of Kilwinning, Scotland.
The family will receive friends at Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, with the Rev. David Harris officiating. Waneta will be laid to rest at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23. The funeral procession will be leaving Fred L Jenkins at 10 a.m.
