Barbara “Barb” Jean Kurcaba, 68, of Morgantown, passed away at her home on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022. She was born on June 3, 1954, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Ira and Dona Sue (Loughry) Shahan.
Barb spent 35 years teaching math at Clay-Battelle High School. She took great joy spending time with her family and friends — sharing her love by cooking and baking for all who knew her. Barb was always seen with a book in her hand, enjoyed watching Mountaineer sports and loved all animals, particularly her dogs, cats, grand doggies and grand kitties.
Barbara was survived by her loving husband, Walter; her son, Samuel Kurcaba and wife Julia; son, Derek Kurcaba and partner, Amber Wilburn; grandsons, Wesley and Tyler Kurcaba; and sister, Shirley Seremetis and husband Gus, all of Morgantown.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 4 p.m. until the memorial service at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
