Frances Lindamood

Frances Lenora (Pratt) Lindamood, 96, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022, at Conchetta’s Health Home Care in Fairmont.

She was born Jan. 27, 1926, the daughter of the late Garrett H. Pratt and Ethel M. (Calvert) Pratt. Frances graduated from Morgantown High School in 1943. She went on to work as a secretary at West Virginia University. She played this role in many different departments over the years at WVU, from which she eventually retired. She was a lifelong member of Spruce Street United Methodist Church.

She married her husband, Kenneth, on June 8, 1946. Frances and Kenny raised two boys. They taught them many lifelong lessons on the outdoors. They spent a lot of time at their camp in Preston County. Frances was an avid hunter and loved looking for ginseng. She was generous with her time and loved hosting family dinners. Even as her family grew, she would never miss a birthday or special event.

Frances is survived by her son, Gary Lindamood, and his wife, Judith; daughter-in-law, Robyn Lindamood; grandchildren: Lisa (Rob) Matthews, Nikki (Matt) Davis and Rebecca (Chris) Deem; great-grandchildren: Melanie (Lee) Keaffer, Kenleigh, Garrett and Justin Lindamood, Brady and Colton Matthews, Nicholas and Wyatt Deem and Mairyn, Isabelle and Alan Davis; great-great-granddaughter, Molly Leighanne Keaffer; and her sister, Wilda Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Herbert Kenneth Lindamood; son, Alan Kenneth Lindamood; grandson, Kenneth Ray Lindamood; and her sister, Virginia St. Clair.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Conchetta’s Health Home Care and Toni for “all the excellent care they gave to our Mom”; and also, to Amedisys Hospice for their care and support.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 4 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 18 with the Rev. Lawrence Rebelo officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory, may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 5006 Mid Atlantic Drive, Morgantown, WV 26508.
