Mary Catherine Walker, 79, of Jakes Run, passed this life into her eternal home in heaven on Sept. 12, 2022.
She was born in Jakes Run, June 14, 1943, to her parents, William Dale Walker and Roxie Gail Eddy Walker. She lived her entire life in Jakes Run. At the age of 4, after the passing of her mother, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Ollie and Mildred Walker. They raised her as their own daughter.
Mary was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School, class of 1961. In her early life, she worked for Pickett’s Dry Cleaning in Morgantown and retired from North American Phillips/Westinghouse. Mary was a dedicated member of Jakes Run Assembly of God, where she loved and enjoyed many life-long friendships.
Ms. Walker is survived by two brothers, William “Bub” Walker, of Fairmont, and John Walker and his wife Jean, of Jakes Run; one sister, Bonnie Colisino and her husband Felix “June,” of Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cousin, who was like a sister to her, Ruby Gail Walker, of Jakes Run; and cousins who were like her nieces and nephews, Nancy Facemire and husband Jeff, of Sanford, N.C., Joyce Bennett and her husband Rob, of Jakes Run, David Walker and his wife Tracy, of Fairmont, Andrew Facemire and his wife Carolyn, of Apex, N.C., Daniel Facemire, of Jakes Run, Justin Bennett, of Pittsburgh, Emily Bennett and her husband Raffaele Dilullo, of Pittsburgh, Jack Walker, of Fairmont, Grace Walker, of Fairmont, Lucy Walker, of Fairmont, Lena and Airlie Facemire, of Apex, N.C., Phoenix Bodenheimer, of Flower Mound, Texas, and special Henderson cousins, Kimberly Woodham, of Oveido, Fla., and Nancy Elkins and husband Emory, of Longmont, Colo.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and wife Alberta Walker and Jim Walker; sister-in-law, Sue Walker; and her cousins, who were like siblings, Neva Ruth Walker and Bob and wife Minnie Walker.
Visitation will be at Jakes Run Assembly of God, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, with Pastor Rob Bennett officiating funeral services at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery.
The Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville is in charge of arrangements.
