Frederick (Fred, Freddie, Pappy) Lee Galloway, 82, of Morgantown, passed away on Aug. 28, 2022, at Mon Health Medical Center. He was born Aug. 12, 1940, in Morgantown, son of Carlus Gordon and Frances (Pancoast) Galloway.
Fred graduated from University High School in 1958. Following high school, he served in the Marines from 1959-1963. Fred worked 40 years at Allegheny Power as a substation lead electrician.
Fred enjoyed puzzles, blue grass music and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two sons, William “Bill” Galloway, of Verona, Va., his wife Dawn and his children, Heather, Sean, Will (daughter Cecilia) and Brooke, and David Galloway, his wife Tammy and their children, Adam (children Eli, Charlotte and Wade), Hannah (husband Tyler and daughter Quinn) and Eric (with whom he shared a birthday); and daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Smith, her husband Sam and their children, Lance Wallman, Drew Wallman (wife Emily and children Laila, Iva, Ella and Cora) and Sam Smith (wife Janie and children Emma and Jackson). He is also survived by his sister, Carol Hungate.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, of 55 years, and his sister, Delphia Ann Adams.
Fred’s life will be honored with a private entombment, full military service and a celebration of life at a later date.
