Anthony William “Tony” Ratliff Sr., 75, of Westover, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at Morgantown Health and Rehab. Tony was born Feb. 21, 1947, in Morgantown, a son of the late Gerald Ratliff and Frances Smith Ratliff.
Tony was a United States Army veteran. He was a retired coal miner, last working at Kirby, and was a member of the UMWA.
Tony had a variety of interests. He loved to scuba dive, enjoyed flying and was an avid cyclist, but most of all loved his family especially his great-granddaughter.
Tony is survived by his wife of 57 years, Deloris Brand Ratliff, one daughter Tammy Salisbury (Gary Nehles) of Fairmont, one son A. William “Bill” Ratliff Jr. (Patti) of Morgantown, two grandchildren, Elizabeth Whitlock and Forrest Ratliff, one great-granddaughter, Lauralei Whitlock and several nieces and nephews.
Anthony was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Ratliff and Kip Ratliff.
Following Tony’s wishes cremation services were provided by McCulla Funeral Home and private family services will be held at a later date.
