Cheryl Dean

Cheryl Gay Dean, 68, of Pentress, died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, in the Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown, due to complications from a stroke.

She was born Monday, Oct. 26, 1953, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Robert Eddy and Norma Louise Morris Eddy.

Mrs. Dean was a 1971 graduate of Clay-Batelle High School and was a longtime resident of Pentress. Cheryl had been a member of the Olive United Methodist Church since 1979. She enjoyed clogging, gardening and taking care of her children and grandchildren. In 2014, she retired from GE as a purchasing coordinator, having worked there for 27 years.

Her husband Randy Dean survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Jill and husband Ron Clark of Pentress; and a son, Stanley and wife Kelli Dean of Spraggs, Pa.; four grandchildren: Jordan and Jackson Dean and Sylvia and Vivian Clark; a brother, Howard and wife Dee Eddy of Core; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a grandson, Lucian Clark; and a brother, Melvin Eddy.

There will be a greeting of friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, 324 Mount Morris Road, Mount Morris, Pa., where services will be conducted on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Brosky officiating. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery, Pentress.
