Laura Jeanette Cole, 97, of Tunnelton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, in Morgantown. She was born in Howesville, May 9, 1925, a daughter of the late Lawrence Salisbury and Edith (Miller) Salisbury. Her husband, Leslie R. “Jim” Cole preceded her in death, March 18, 2005, they were married 59 years.
Laura was a loving mother and grandmother and a member of the Howesville Church of Christ. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are three sons, Leslie Cole Jr. and wife Joyce, of Terra Alta, Jimmy Cole and wife Vicki, of Tunnelton, and Roger Cole and companion Fran, of Terra Alta; Kenny’s companion, Beverly Gwinn; her beloved grandchildren, Joe, Sherri, Lorraine, Rachel, Erica and Sibyl; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Cole; one grandson, Donnie Cole; three brothers, Wally, Marvin and Richard Salisbury; and one sister, Margie Templeton.
Friends may call at the Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 South Price St., Kingwood, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, with Mike Logan officiating. The committal service will be at the WV National Cemetery, Grafton at 1 p.m.
