John Scott Strader, 46, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
Born Sept. 26, 1975, in Flint, Mich., Scott is a son of John Earl Strader and his wife Lois, of Birch Run, Mich., and the late Rose Lea Smith who preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2022.
Scott is survived by his wife, Teresa Lynne Reed Strader; their children, Ella Rose, Abigail Bernice, Caleb Jordan, Kai Abraham, Freya Bliss, Lorelei Myrtle and Cormac Glenn; two sisters, Amy Schaefer and her husband Glen and Beth Page and her husband Jeff; his mother-in-law, Judy Reed; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and community kids.
In addition to his mother, Scott was preceded in death by two children.
Scott was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School in Michigan in 1993 and West Virginia University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1999.
He was very proud of his title as wireless construction project coordinator at Pillar Communications. He was a talented photographer and took many photos that were published throughout the state. Scott was an avid soccer player and fan.
He was a perfectionist in everything in his life — detailed and organized almost to a fault. He had a wicked sense of humor and loved making those around him laugh. Birthdays were always a big deal in his house, and he enjoyed making birthday cakes for his family and friends. But most of all, Scott was so, so proud of his family. He was the most amazing and loving husband, father, son and brother that anyone could’ve ever asked for.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Greater Love Family Outreach Ministries located at Fresh Harvest Church, 275 Canyon Road, Morgantown, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service to honor Scott’s life and legacy at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, officiated by Pastor Junius Lewis.
