William Smith

William E. “Bill” Smith, 61, of Morgantown, passed away at the Mon Health Medical Center on Thursday, July 28, 2022, following a brief illness. Bill was born on Jan. 28, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of David Lee and Rilla Henderson Smith.

When he wasn’t in his bus seat, you would likely find Bill on or near the water fishing. He particularly enjoyed trout fishing. Though he never took a wife, Bill loved his family and regularly spoiled his nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home, from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, with Pastor Damon Nicholson officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his parents at the Hagans Cemetery.
